The BCLA evening lecture 'Kids - they can't be that difficult can they?'  will be presented by Professor Sunil Shah.

This lecture will offer an overview of corneal problems in children and the challenges faced in dealing with them. The problems range from all the corneal problems that adults face but in addition the congenital problems that are increasingly diagnosed at an early stage.Whilst some of the conditions are rare, some are much more common and with increasing success rates, these children will be seen by their own optometrists for on going management.

Professor Sunil Shah qualified from St. Georges Hospital Medical School and completed his post-graduate training in Torquay, Exeter, Manchester and Nottingham. He has been a Corneal Consultant at the Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre since 2000. He is an honorary Professor at the University of Ulster and Visiting Professor at Aston University. Professor Shah provides specialist advice to NICE and is a representative for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists to the British Standards Institute. He is a past president of the British Society for Refractive Surgery. In 2013 he was Asian Professional of the Year.
