The British Contact Lens Association is the UK’s leading supplier of information and education on contact lenses and the anterior eye. Our mission is to promote excellence in research, manufacture and clinical practice of contact lenses and related areas.
A registered charity, the BCLA is a multidisciplinary organisation representing all those involved in contact lenses and has optometrists, dispensing opticians, ophthalmologists, industry personnel, research scientists and students among its membership. We current have around 1,800 members in nearly 40 countries around the world.
The annual BCLA Clinical Conference and Exhibition is the world’s largest dedicated contact lens event, attracting more than 1,000 visitors from the UK and overseas. The Association also publishes the internationally renowned peer-reviewed journal, Contact Lens & Anterior Eye.
Our educational activities include approved Continuing Education and Training courses and evening meetings. The BCLA is also the first port of call for professionals, the public and press seeking information about contact lenses and related areas.
