Call for Clinical Presentation Proposals

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING CLINICAL PRESENTATION PROPOSALS FOR THE 2009 ANNUAL CLINICAL CONFERENCE
 
The Conference Organising Committee of the British Contact Lens Association invites proposals for Clinical  Presentations for delivery at the Association’s Annual Clinical Conference to be held from 28 - 31 May 2009 at the Manchester Central Convention Complex, Manchester, UK.

Details describing the presentation must be submitted using the form below for consideration by the BCLA Conference Organising Committee.

The Committee will expect the following information: the purpose of the presentation, the clinical content, the presentation format and 4 course objectives. Presentations must have a hands-on practical approach and allow delegates the opportunity to learn new clinical skills. The time allocated for a presentation is 75 minutes.

CONDITIONS OF ENGAGEMENT
All prospective presenters whose clinical presentations are accepted for the meeting will be entitled to complimentary conference registration (up to two presenters per presentation - auxilliary clinical tutors may be provided in order to conform with GOC requirements) and an expenses grant of £150 per presentation*. All clinical presentation  presenters will be required to be present in Manchester on the evening Wednesday or Thursday (May 27/28, 2009) to ensure that their clinical presentation is set up.

*(The expenses grant equates to an individual presentation and does not alter if a presentation is repeated)

Presenters of accepted clinical presentations will be required to submit a 1000 word outline of the presentation electronically (Microsoft Word format, font size 12 and typeface Arial) to the BCLA office by April 3 2009.

PLEASE NOTE:
Company logos are not permitted to be shown on any audio visual material. Acknowledgement of a sponsor is allowed at the end of the presentation.
