Photographic Competition

 
The Academic Committee of the British Contact Lens Association invites photographs for presentation at the Association’s Clinical Conference to be held from 24-27 May 2012 at the ICC  Birmingham, UK. Photographs related to contact lenses and /or the anterior eye will be considered. The top entries as judged at the conference will be published in the Association’s journal, Contact Lens & Anterior Eye. A prize will also be awarded for the best entry.

GUIDELINES

• The image must contain at least 400,000 pixels and be saved in a high-quality JPG format (may be scanned from film prints if taken in this form).
• Images may contain no more than two pictures taken of the same case. Digital manipulation, such as contrast and sharpness enhancement, is allowed as long as the presented image is faithful to the clinical presentation.
• Entries must be accompanied by a descriptive title, a short case history and a maximum of 30 words detailing the imaging technique used (e.g. slit lamp retro illumination, JAI SV3200 camera with 1/20,000th sec shutter speed).
• Images submitted to the BCLA in previous years may not be submitted again. 
• Maximum number of entries per person is three. 
• Images will be judged on originality, educational value and photographic skills.
• Shortlisted submissions will be posted on the website prior to the Conference. Photograhpic submissions will be judged at the Conference.


The closing date for submissions is Friday 27 April 2012.

Photographic entries will be considered by the Academic committee.  You will be notified whether or not the entry was accepted. If a submission is not accepted, grounds will not be given and correspondence will not be entered into.

It is a condition of entry that all entrants must attend the prize giving ceremony for the photographic competition, to be held at the conference venue on Saturday 26 May 2012.
