The ‘Moments of Truth’ when patients took the plunge and decided contact lenses were for them will be the focus of a workshop held at BCLA UK this June.

Qualified optician David Samuel (pictured) managing director of Eyesite Practices Ltd, will give practitioners the information they need to have effective conversations to understand patients’ lifestyle needs.

The primary objectives of the workshop will be to help opticians communicate the benefits of contact lens wear and reverse potential misgivings about contact lenses.

All those attending will be able to share and learn from each other regarding previous positive and negative experiences and go away equipped with an array of tactics to try to inspire patients to try contact lenses for themselves.

David Samuel said: “This workshop will examine what potential Moments of Truth may look like and how to create more of these for our patients. It will also examine how we can reverse and overcome negative experiences preventing many people from enjoying the benefits of contact lens wear.”

The talk will be held as part of a series of CET lectures during BCLAUK – a new event aimed at boosting eye care professionals’ confidence with contact lenses and maximising the potential of both themselves and their practice.
