Visionaries can help shine a light on lenses

The eyes of the world may be on the race for the White House but here at the BCLA we are hoping our Visionaries conference next month will shift the focus onto contact lenses.

Our very own President Brian Tompkins said Visionaries will shine a light on lenses and enable practitioners the chance to future-proof their practice.

He said: “Visionaries promises to be an action-packed roller coaster ride of learning, networking and, most importantly, fun.

“Dr Janis Orr will discuss in detail the latest research in myopia management and explore what you can now do in practice, ensuring that you are at the forefront of the latest thinking and research.
“You can find out how to upgrade the patient experience, not just the product and discover where we stand with refractive surgery with Ian Cameron and Allon Barsom.
“We will look at astigmatism and presbyopia. Ocular surface disease will come under the microscope, you will discover a new approach to multifocal contact lens fitting and see for yourselves the latest lenses for today’s digital lifestyles.
The event, which takes place at London’s Royal College of Surgeons on Monday. November 14, will include an evening reception for drinks and an extended exhibition from some of the industry’s biggest names.

Official event partners include Alcon,
CooperVision, Menicon, Johnson & Johnson, mark e’nnovy and Topcon.
Visionaries will conclude with the 2016 Pioneers Recipient, Dr Graeme Young, delivering a lecture entitled ‘Lifting the Lid on Soft Contact Lens Design’

Entry is free for BCLA members who can bring along one free non member guest to the evening lecture, please note you do need to register online in advance to secure your place at the event. Tickets are available for non-members priced £200. Here are some useful links:
