Early Career Certificate in Myopia Management
The Early Career Certificate in Myopia Management will focus on clinical skills and evidence practice in myopia management, offering expert knowledge in the three main areas of myopia management: spectacles, contact lenses, and pharmacological interventions.
The Early Career Certificate in Myopia Management consists of 6 x lectures followed by multiple choice questions (MCQ's) for each of the lecture topics as follows:
- Why Myopia Management: Epidemiology, Aetiology and Risks
- Behavioural advice and Spectacles lenses
- Soft Contact Lens Options
- Orthokeratology in Myopia Management
- Pharmacological Interventions
- How, putting it into practice
The Certificate needs to be completed within 12 months from the date of enrolment. Students working towards their certificate will have up to 3 attempts to complete all 6 online modules and accompanying MCQ's. Students who do not manage to complete the course within this time frame, will have all attempts removed and will be required to re-enrol. Course extensions are not permitted.
A Certificate will be issued on successful completion of all lectures and MCQ's. CPD is not available.
Who is the certificate aimed at?
The
Early Career Certificate in Myopia Management is inclusive of your BCLA Membership and available on BCLA's Learning Platform and can be achieved by any
BCLA Pre-reg, Overseas student, UK student and
Newly Qualified member. Student membership is required and must be active throughout the duration of the Certificate.
Once you have qualified as an Eye Care Practitioner, please click here to complete our full BCLA Myopia Management Course which consists of lectures and MCQs, a peer review and written examination to achieve a certificate valid for 3 years with the option to re-accredit. How can I get started on the course?
To enrol onto this Certificate you will need to login to your BCLA account and follow the instructions below:
Click the 'Enrol here' button above
Add the 'Early Career Myopia Management Certificate' to your shopping cart
Go to your shopping cart in the top right hand corner to submit order and complete the purchase (zero cost)
Once your order is confirmed, go to your profile by clicking on your name in the top right hand corner
Click onto the 'Learning' tab, then 'Access my learning area' as shown in screen shot below. This will take you to the BCLA Learning Platform where you can begin your Certificate
Click 'Go to My Learning Centre' and click on 'Certifications', here you will see the course you have enrolled onto.
