PRESENTATION
This webinar will review the various indications for medical use of contact lenses and the mechanism of action for various medical contact lenses. Additionally, important considerations on when and how to fit these various lens modalities, and the importance of patient education and compliance.  CPD* ref C-106764.

SPEAKERS
Dr. Karen G. Carrasquillo is SVP of Clinical and Professional Affairs at BostonSight. She is an adjunct clinical professor at the New England College of Optometry, at the school of optometry, MCPHS University, Advisory Board member for the Gas Permeable Lens Institute, Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, Fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society, Fellow of the British Contact Lens Association, and Global Ambassador of the BCLA. She was named Most Influential Woman in Optical, as an Innovator in Vision Monday 2021. And planning committee member for the International Congress of Scleral Contacts and Global Ophthalmic Women meeting.

 

Dr. Kellen Riccobono is a fellowship-trained Therapeutic Optometrist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She completed her bachelor's in biology at the University of Texas at Austin followed by her Doctor of Optometry at The University of Houston College of Optometry. She then completed a fellowship in which she specialized in contact lenses. Her previous experience includes working as a Clinical Professor at the New England College of Optometry and at the BostonSight PROSE clinic where she helped design and fit custom scleral lenses in patients with advanced corneal disease. Currently she works in private practice in Texas.
