AGENDA Registration and drinks reception: 18:30 - 19:00 Evening Lecture: 19:00 - 20:00 EVENING LECTURE (19:00 - 20:00) The evening lecture "Surgical advances for correction of presbyopia" will be presented by Mr Allon Barsam. This will be a video based presentation showing all of the most commonly accepted surgical interventions for presbyopia as well as newer innovations which are now available. Interventions covered will include: laser blended vision, implantable contact lenses, sulcus based lenses and capsular bag fixated intraocular lenses. Intraocular lenses covered will include simple mono vision with mono-focal lenses, toric lenses, trifocal lenses and extended depth of focus lenses. Advantages and limitations of each technique will be covered as well as patient selection theory. There will be time for questions. Allon Barsam has set up and now runs a tertiary NHS practice specialising in cornea and refractive surgery. His private practice is predominantly laser and lens vision correction surgery. He has published over 40 peer review publications, 10 book chapters and a major ophthalmology textbook now entering its second edition. He is a global opinion leader for the Ophthalmic Surgical Industry and is regularly invited to lecture both nationally and internationally. CET This evening lecture has been approved for 1 CET point.
