Once you are logged, go to the Events drop down menu located at the top of the BCLA homepage and click BCLA Webinar Registration. The registration page will only be displayed and visible to logged in BCLA members.

Presentation 
Dry eye disease is an increasingly common phenomenon and has become one of the most frequent causes of patient visits to eye care practitioners. This presentation will offer a general overview of the latest guidance on dry eye disease from the DEWSII report (2017) and will set out how dry eye management differs between community and hospital and how the two groups can work together to support patients with a wide spectrum of dry eye disease. Several case studies highlighting different types of dry eye disease will be presented to highlight the differing approaches to investigation, diagnosis and management of dry eye. The webinar will follow the format below: - Overview of DEWS II latest evidence-based guidelines on diagnosis and assessment - Discussion of the importance of good differential diagnosis - Description of clinical assessment techniques for good diagnosis - Brief overview of typical management strategies - Case reviews to demonstrate real patient scenarios

Presenters
Sarah Farrant graduated from Cardiff University, UK in 2002. She owns and works in an independent practice alongside her husband Edward, and in a specialist practice within a GP surgery managing eye disease in Somerset. She has a particular interest in dry eye and therapeutics, running dedicated clinics in practice for many years and she lectures widely in these subjects. She acts as a consultant to a number of contact lens and ophthalmic companies. Sarah has also recently been appointed as the UK ambassador for the Tear Film and Ocular Surface Society (TFOS).

Indy Sian is a Consultant Eye Surgeon at Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. Having completed dual training in Ophthalmology and Optometry he undertook advanced specialisation in the medical and surgical management of complex corneal and external eye disease, corneal transplantation, cataract surgery and refractive surgery at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital, London and The Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital. In his role as an NHS Consultant Mr Sian conducts Corneal transplant surgery, high volume cataract surgery and is the corneal and external eye disease lead clinician receiving referrals from across the region.
